ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT FOCUS AREAS

A sustainable business is a prerequisite for long-term profitable growth. For us this is self-evident and our sustainability work is a natural part of the workday in all parts of our operations. It can involve small behavioural changes that in the long run have a large positive impact as well as more comprehensive and resource-intensive initiatives. Our sustainability work is long-term and by concentrating it in areas where we have the greatest opportunity to influence development we can make a real difference.

Sustainability issues in focus:

  • Climate emissions
  • Energy use and energy sources – We use only renewable electricity
  • Material usage
  • Waste management
  • Employer branding
  • Quality
  • Economic performance

Environmental responsibility

Manufacturing industries are operations that lead to environmental impact of different kinds. The main impact occurs as a result of the use of energy and materials but also the generation of waste and climate emissions places a burden on the environment. The Group also sees risks mainly regarding access to, from an environmental perspective, more sustainable materials and the opportunities to transition in accordance with the UN’s sustainability goals. To manage the risks, the Group’s companies continuously work to improve their environmental performance.

Social responsibility

Our social responsibility involves taking responsibility for employees and ensuring that each individual has a good working environment with regard to both physical and psychosocial factors. The stakeholder analysis carried out during the year showed that our customers and suppliers also consider a safe, secure and healthy workplace one of the most important sustainability issues for our Group. Furthermore, the social aspects of sustainability involve taking responsibility for people and the development of the local community in which the Group’s companies operate.

Economic responsibility

To achieve profitability, it is important to allocate all resources carefully and work with efficiency at all levels. For many years we have had a clear focus on long-term growth with profitability. Long-term thinking permeates all parts of the business and the Group thereby takes responsibility for and contributes to improving the society in which we operate. Our social responsibility means that, as far as possible, we should ensure that our processes and products do not negatively affect people’s health or our environment. By constantly acquiring new technology and being at the forefront of product development we want to ensure that the Group’s production has the smallest possible impact on health and the environment while being run in an efficient and profitable way.
